SchoolMessenger: Notification Preferences

Communication with our families is important to us. Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) uses SchoolMessenger as one way of sharing information directly with our families by phone, email and text. Messages may include bus cancellations or delays, inclement weather, upcoming events, last-minute cancellations, parental engagement opportunities, emergency notices and more.

Manage Your Subscription Preferences

Once your child has started school with EIPS, you'll be able to set up your SchoolMessenger account. Through SchoolMessenger, you can manage your subscription preference separately for the various message categories that exist:

  • General messages (as described above)
  • Emergency messages
  • Attendance messages (at some schools)

You can manage your preferences online or through the SchoolMessenger app, available through the App Store or Google Play.

  • The first time you log in, select Sign Up in the top, right corner and create your account using the same email address on file with your child's school.
  • Refer to the SchoolMessenger Parent Account Guide for more information and detailed instructions.

If you have questions about SchoolMessenger or need help creating your account and managing your preferences, contact EIPS Student Transportation at 780-417-8151 or through our online contact form.

Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation

Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requires the Division to provide all recipients with the opportunity to unsubscribe from receiving these emails, as they may occasionally contain content that is commercial in nature. You can choose to unsubscribe from all message types at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in the footer at the very bottom of any email you receive. If you do unsubscribe in full, you'll no longer receive any of these updates. If you ever need to re-subscribe in the future, contact your child’s school. Note: Those who unsubscribe in full risk missing important information on activities and projects including school-based events, fundraising activities, musical or theatre productions, school photos, graduations, dances, etc.
