October Construction Highlights

Construction continued for the Sherwood Park Replacement School. Several highlights from October include:

  • Application of waterproof membranes to the elevator pit
  • Installation of damp proofing and weeping tiles
  • Installation of precast walls, metal deck and joists for both the small and large gymnasiums
  • Ongoing formwork and masonry work

Groundbreaking Ceremony and School Designs

On September 12, EIPS hosted the official groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction on the new replacement school. 

The ceremony included reflections from Elder Wilson Bearhead and greetings from local dignitaries—including Board Chair Cathy Allen; Trustee Trina Boymook; Nate Glubish, Alberta’s Minister of Technology and Innovation and Member of the Legislative Assembly for Sherwood Park-Strathcona; and Strathcona County Mayor Rod Frank.
