21st Century Teaching Tools
EIPS teachers are incorporating 21st century tools in their classroom to reach and engage students. The use of technologies, tools, and information is necessary for students to be active, creative, and ethical participants in our globally networked society.
Social media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, and Edmodo are examples of collaborative networking sites. These sites may be used for discussion forums, group project planning, field trip observations, sports and fine art celebrations, and reminders for upcoming events and activities.
All use of social media in EIPS is governed by Administrative Procedure 146: Social Media, Administrative Procedure 180: Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy, and the EIPS Social Media Guidelines. Teachers who intend to use social media/collaborative sites as part of curriculum instruction are required to obtain parental consent, which includes an explanation of the identified educational outcomes.
If you have questions about educational technology and collaborative networking sites used in EIPS, please contact our Educational Technology department using our online contact form.
