Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of Alberta's largest school divisions, serving approximately 17,750 students in 42 schools. Our schools are located just east of the Alberta Capital Region, in both urban and rural areas including:

  • Sherwood Park
  • Fort Saskatchewan
  • Vegreville (County of Minburn)
  • Strathcona County
  • Lamont County

EIPS employs approximately 875 full-time equivalent teaching staff—including specialists in French Immersion, culinary arts, mechanics, early learning, drama and fine arts, and other career and technology studies areas—and 560 full-time equivalent non-teaching staff—including facility maintenance staff, systems analysts, human resource staff, accountants, communications professionals, administrative personnel and more.
