Senior high school students at EIPS have access to a variety of programs and courses aimed at helping them find the right path for success in high school and beyond. From core, academic programs to careers and technology studies and fine arts courses to athletics students develop the skills and interests needed to find and pursue their passion.

High School Requirements and Planning Guide
To help grades 8 and 9 families make an informed decision about senior high, EIPS is hosting a Division high school information night. The session provides information about senior high courses, instruction, programming and extracurricular opportunities throughout the Division, as well as details about diploma requirements and various career path options.

In addition to the general high school information, each EIPS senior high school is hosting an open house. The high school open houses provide Grade 9 students and families an opportunity to meet the staff; tour the school; learn about the curriculum, course offerings and alternative programming available; discuss diploma requirements and various career paths; and more. Dates and times for each high school open house are below.

All EIPS school open houses
A number of alternative programs are available in senior high. Schools will host information sessions this winter for families interested in learning more about these programs. More information is available on the individual school websites or by contacting the schools directly.
EIPS offers an elementary French Immersion program at Ardrossan Elementary, École Campbelltown, Heritage Hill Elementary and École Parc Élémentaire. The junior high program is hosted at Ardrossan Junior Senior High and Sherwood Heights Junior High. Students continue the senior high French Immersion program at Ardrossan Junior Senior High. Through the courses, students become fluent in French while also achieving the objectives of the regular English school program.
Learn more about French Immersion programming within EIPS. Current families interested in learning more about the program at the secondary level and those new to the Division considering French Immersion programming in kindergarten or Grade 1 are invited to attend.
Attendees will gain insight about the program, curriculum, instruction, diploma requirements, related career paths and optional course offerings. In addition, families will have a chance to ask questions from representatives of all French Immersion schools, and learn about post-secondary options at the University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean. EIPS offers an Advanced Placement program at Bev Facey Community High. The courses provide academic rigour and prepare students for post-secondary education. Flexibility is one of the program’s key tenets allowing students to take a full Advanced Placement course load or individual courses based on student interests and strengths. EIPS offers an International Baccalaureate Programme (IB) at Salisbury Composite High. Founded on the IB mission, the program aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. Courses are challenging, and include an international education focus and rigorous assessments. In addition, students have the flexibility to choose to enrol in the full IB programme or from a selection of IB courses.
