Thank you to everyone who attended last night’s public engagement session about a possible change to the junior high attendance area—moving all regular program Grade 6 students at Brentwood Elementary to F.R. Haythorne Junior High for grades 7 to 9. The change would prevent splitting students between two junior high schools.

If you couldn’t join us in person and want to provide feedback, or want to provide more input about the proposed change, you still can. Simply, fill out the EIPS Submit Question Form, or send an email to info@wmc.ca. The deadline to submit input is Sept. 20, 2022.

To help you with providing feedback, below are two background documents:

Once all the feedback’s submitted, Western Management Consultants, the contracted public-consultation firm, will compile the provided input and prepare a final report for the Division to review.

A final decision about the junior high attendance boundary is expected in November. Before making a decision, the Board will review all the information and feedback gathered throughout the public consultations. EIPS is committed to keeping the community informed about the process and will provide information as it becomes available.

Again, thank you for your participation in this important discussion.
