Eligibility for PALS is guided by the criteria outlined by Alberta Education. Typically children registered in PALS have been assessed with mild/moderate or severe disabilities/delays in one or more developmental areas.

Free speech-language pathology screenings will be provided for families interested in the PALS program. Contact EIPS for more information. 

Children who have been identified by a qualified professional* as having a moderate or severe disability may be eligible for PALS programming within the following age ranges:

• Minimum age of older than 2 years, 8 months as of September 1
• Maximum age of younger than 4 years, 8 months as of September 1

* A qualified professional is a pediatrician, psychiatrist, psychologist, speech language pathologist, occupational therapist or physical therapist.

Early Childhood Services Age of Funding Eligibility
