Jack Snow, FLI Organizational Lead, Bev Facey Holiday Market

Sherwood Park, AB. — Vendors from Bev Facey Community High and Strathcona County are sharing their gifts in the form of skillfully made crafts for a Holiday Market fundraiser at the school.

Bev Facey's Leadership Initiative (FLI) students are organizing the market. “I first got the idea for the Bev Facey Holiday Market from my mom and grandfather who participate in many craft sales and markets throughout the holidays,” says Jack Snow, the FLI Organizational Lead student for the market. “With the help of the FLI team, I was able to organize a market with more than 40 vendors, and upwards of 50 tables—with all the proceeds being donated to the Strathcona Christmas Bureau. I hope that bringing an event like this to Facey will not only help to support our school, but also create new pathways that allow for Bev Facey students and staff to build a stronger connection to our Sherwood Park community.”

To raise funds, the school is selling tables to vendors so they can sell their holiday crafts. There will also be gift basket raffles for attendees. All proceeds from table rentals and raffle ticket sales will be donated to the Strathcona Christmas Bureau.

Events highlights will include:

  • A barbeque in the afternoon;
  • A cafe available the entire day;
  • Face painting and glitter tattoo station run by Bev Facey’s Leadership Initiative students;
  • Gift basket raffles; and
  • Santa making visits throughout the day.
