Just a quick reminder, make sure to complete the EIPS French Immersion Engagement Survey by April 24. Share your thoughts on EIPS’ potential draft solution for the French Immersion program!
As you know, EIPS is exploring ways to enhance its French Immersion program by increasing secondary-level retention, addressing anticipated enrolment pressures in Ardrossan and balancing enrolment at the elementary level. Before any decisions are made, EIPS is consulting school families, students, staff and community stakeholders. Already, it’s conducted the first two phases of its engagement efforts. And, on April 13, EIPS held its third public engagement session to share and collect feedback on a potential solution for its French Immersion program.
A Potential Solution: EIPS French Immersion
While the solution addresses retention, anticipated enrolment pressures and balancing elementary enrolment, it’s only a potential solution. So, before moving any further, EIPS is collecting even more feedback from the French Immersion school community—families, students, staff and community members. If you haven’t done so already, make sure to complete the online survey and tell us what you think about the proposed potential solution—its strengths, challenges, how to make it better, or an alternative.
Before taking the survey, if you have any questions or concerns, review the Questions and Answers: French Immersion Public Engagement. The document answers most questions posed to date.

Once all the input is submitted, EIPS will use the feedback gathered to inform next steps and further develop a solution. Then, in June, EIPS will present a report to the Board of Trustees about the French Immersion engagement efforts. Again, before making a decision, the EIPS Board will review all relevant data and the feedback gathered throughout the engagement efforts.
As always, EIPS will keep school families updated as the process progresses.
