Beginning the Conversation
The first public consultation conversations took place throughout February and March, in which parents (through their School Councils), students, and staff of schools directly affected by potential changes had an opportunity to get involved. We invited participants to review information about the current and projected statuses of our Sherwood Park schools, pose questions, and begin brainstorming ideas about how we could move forward.
Interested parents, staff, and community members are welcome to review the information shared during these first conversations. The following document includes an executive summary, PowerPoint presentation, and revised data package with additional information.
February/March - Presentation Materials and Revised Data Package
- Part 1 - Summary, PowerPoint Presentation, and Sherwood Park data
- Part 2 - Individual school data (Bev Facey Community High to Lakeland Ridge)
- Part 3 - Individual school data (Mills Haven Elementary to Wye Elementary)
Elk Island Public Schools' Board of Trustees would like to thank all students, parents, and staff who participated in the Re-Imagining Our Sherwood Park Schools: Student, Program, and Boundary Planning focused conversations.
EIPS is reviewing the information collected to:
- Evaluate observations and determine if we have missed anything,
- Answer questions,
- Collect potential solutions, and
- Inform the May public participation meetings.
We are reporting back to participants through school principals at an April-May staff meeting or school council meeting and through the following school summaries of parent and student conversations.
