Sent to all families of students applying to a 2024-25 Specialized System Program

Dear Parents and Guardians of __________,

The Division has received the application for __________ to register in an Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) Specialized System Program for the coming year. Division staff are currently reviewing all applications received and determining opportunities for student placements for 2024-25. From February 1-6, your child’s current school will contact you to let you know the outcome of these placement decisions, so you’re aware prior to returning student registration starting on February 8.

After opportunities for placement are communicated with families, you’ll confirm your child’s 2024-25 registration in the applicable program through two steps:

1. On February 8, all families will receive a returning student registration form for each child that will reflect the school and program communicated by the school in early February. Regardless of program placement, a returning student registration form is required for all current EIPS students.
2. On February 8, at 4 p.m., families who are granted an opportunity for placement will also receive a Specialized System Program Consent Form to confirm your child’s placement in the applicable program for 2024-25.

Both forms will be sent to families through Permission Click. The deadline for both forms is Feb. 21, 2024.
